Ballybunion, from Beale to the Cashen area has an abundance of wildlife and is a haven for birdwatchers and a paradise for anglers.
About 150 species of fish are known to visit the sea around Ballybunion. From the shore, it is possible to fish for Pollock, Bass, Mackerel and Flat Fish.
The tidal nature of the Cashen means it supports species of fish such as Flounder, Eel, Atlantic Salmon and Brown Trout. The mudflats at the Cashen provide food such as lugworm and ragworm as well as millions of microscopic snails.
